Known to many as an exceptional artist with a distinctive sound philosophy and simply brilliant interpretations of classical and contemporary works for piano, Grammy-nominated Andrius Žlabys is one of the most renowned contemporary Lithuanian pianists, who has won international acclaim. He is internationally acclaimed for his "effortless" virtuosity, generous and all-encompassing sound, enchanting interpretations and richness of musical perception.
𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐙̌𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐲𝐬 went to the USA to study piano and was soon noticed there as a "shining hope for the piano" (The New York Sun). He has subsequently performed with many of the world's leading symphony orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Boston, Cleveland, Rotterdam, Buenos Aires and others. A winner of numerous international competitions, he has performed at world-renowned venues such as Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, the Concertgebouw, Carnegie Hall, the Phillips Collection, Teatro Colón, Wigmore Hall, Vienna's Musikverein and Suntory Hall, among others. The musicians he has worked with include Yuri Bashmet, Hilary Hahn, Gidon Kremer and many others.
