The journey through the unprecedented quarries of the Akmenė district is about to start!

The quarries, which have been in operation since 1931, are now open to lovers of unforgettable impressions. The quarries in Akmenė are man-made territories where you can see and touch dinosaur-era artifacts with your hands. Geological strata from the Permian and Triassic periods are exploited here, and fossils from the Jurassic period can also be found. The quarries are worked by huge machines weighing up to 700 tonnes. We will go on a space journey on 15 June at 10:00 am Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early.

PARTICIPANT INFORMATION:

Duration of the excursion: 4 hours. Starting point,

The tour is carried out by private cars (the distance covered by car is about 50 km);

During the tour, the quarries are visited on foot (the total distance is about 5 km);

Adult ticket price: €11.

Children up to the age of 16 years do not need to purchase tickets.

No discounts for seniors, students or disabled persons.

1.7. Participants are not allowed to climb into the boom, cab of a walking excavator;

1.8. Participants are not allowed to go near the edge of the Quarry (cliff);

1.9. Participants are prohibited from touching electrical cables and other electrical equipment;

1.10. Participants are prohibited from walking on the train tracks;

1.11. Participants must keep away from falling rocks on the slope;
