The journey through the unprecedented quarries of the Akmenė district is about to start!

The quarries, which have been in operation since 1931, are now open to lovers of unforgettable impressions. The quarries in Akmenė are man-made territories where you can see and touch dinosaur-era artifacts with your hands. Geological strata from the Permian and Triassic periods are exploited here, and fossils from the Jurassic period can also be found. The quarries are worked by huge machines weighing up to 700 tonnes. We will set off on our space voyage on 2 June at 10:00 a.m. Arrive 10 - 15 minutes early.

PARTICIPANT INFORMATION:

Duration of the excursion: more than 4 hours. Starting point: Papilė town central square (J. Basanavičiaus street 22a, Papilė town, The tour is carried out by private cars (approx. 60 km by car);

During the tour, the quarries are explored on foot (total distance approx. 7 km);

Adult ticket price: €11 per adult. + one Euro donation for the maintenance of the Augustaitis Mill (payable in cash on site)

Children under 16 years of age do not need to purchase tickets.

No discounts for seniors, students or disabled persons .

1.You must behave safely during the excursion and comply with all safety requirements and the instructions of the guide;

1.2.Participants are not allowed to consume alcoholic beverages or psychotropic substances during the excursion;

1.3. Participants are obliged to walk in the territory of the Quarry only along the paths indicated by the Guide;

1.4. Participants are forbidden to enter the territory of the Quarry with their own vehicles;

1.5. Participants are forbidden to walk closer than 5 m to the excavator and the walking excavator;

1.6. Participants are not allowed to go near heavy vehicles (belazos);

1.7. Participants are not allowed to climb into the boom, cab of a walking excavator;

1.8. Participants are not allowed to go near the edge of the Quarry (cliff);

1.9. Participants are prohibited from touching electrical cables and other electrical equipment;

1.10. Participants are prohibited from walking on the train tracks;

1.11. Participants must keep away from falling rocks on the slope;
