"In Black and Whites" has its origins in 2009, when the professor of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LAMT), Petr Geniušas, gave a recital in Vilnius' Lukiškės Square during the festival "Culture Night", where he performed the music of L. van Beethoven. In 2011, young pianists - the most talented students and graduates of the LAMT, whose solo performances still form the basis of the Piano Music Marathon programme - joined the project. The higher education institution, which cherishes a deep tradition of piano music performance, will present the programme of the "Culture Night" at 9 pm. At midnight, pianist Petras Geniušas will present his unique programme "What I would like to tell M. K. Čiurlionis", which is filled with improvisations and compositions from the Romantic era and the 20th and 21st centuries.
