"I put my soul into La Boheme, I loved it very much, I loved the characters of the opera more than I can say", wrote composer Puccini after the premiere. The audience was not indifferent either: after the performances, the audience went wild and did not let go of the performers until midnight, deeply moved by the sensitive and tragic love story of Rudolph and Mimi. The opera Boheme was greeted with furore in European theatres, triumphing in North and South America, Africa and Turkey. Today, it remains one of the most frequently staged masterpieces of operatic literature.
