PIANIST V. ŠAKŪRAS AND METTIS STYGINI QUARTET | CONCERT "STORIES"
Dive into gentle musical narratives - dreamy and enchanting melodies, often heard in films and contemporary art events, will flood the Church of St. Catherine this November during the concert "Stories".
The evening's programme will feature works by contemporary composers Max Richter and Sven Helbig, performed by prominent musicians who have won acclaim in Lithuania and abroad: pianist Vytis Šakūras and the string quartet Mettis.
"Stories" is not only for classical music fans
Music that opens the door to the world of feelings - that's how the programme of the concert "Stories" can be described.
Short pieces from the repertoire of composers Max Richter and Sven Helbig will create a distinctive, cosy and romantic atmosphere and will take you for a moment to different places, as if you were in a movie. During the evening, the performers will sensitively combine the individual parts of the performance into a seamless, profound musical inspiration that will linger in the memory for a long time.
The post-minimalist, contemporary classical music of composer Max Richter is widely used in films and series. In 2019, Max Richter's work surpassed one billion online streams and one million album sales. In the Stories concert, Shakur and the Mettis Quartet will perform pieces from the album Infra, which was also featured at the launch of the Dior men's autumn/winter collection in Paris earlier this year.
The concert will also feature stories from German composer Sven Helbig's album Pocket Symphonies, a coherent cycle of 12 compositions, each of which conveys a different image and feeling. "Frost", "Lullaby", "Tear", "Autumn Song" or "Perfume of the City" will become unexpected musical journeys through the world of imagination.
Let's meet in a unique performance of sound, light and feelings - already in November 2024 at the concert "STORIES"!
