Explore the full potential of the saxophone quartet at the concert of our guests from Canada. Quasar, a world-renowned collective coming to Kaunas, presents a concert programme "From Bach to Zappa", inviting you to travel through time and space between the worlds of the great Baroque master Johann Sebastian Bach and the 20th century rock legend Frank Zappa. "Get ready, fasten your seatbelts and embark on this unique journey," say the members of the Quasar Saxophone Quartet.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, this ensemble, which is distinguished by its energy, boldness and innovation, performs a wide variety of music - from instrumental to live electronic, from classical and jazz to improvisation, showcasing the different sides of the saxophone. Each programme is original. As passionate enthusiasts of contemporary music, Quasar regularly collaborates with composers. This broadens their artistic expression and inspires new musical experiments. It is no coincidence that the members of the saxophone quartet call themselves mediators of new ideas, intermediaries between the composer and the listener. They regularly perform in Canada, the USA, Mexico and Europe and for the first time they will present themselves to the Kaunas audience.
The concert will feature not only the music of J. S. Bach and F. Zappa, but also works by Lithuanian Vykintas Baltakas, Belgian Jean Absil, Englishman Will Gregory and Canadian Émilie Girard-Charest.
All listeners looking for new experiences and sounds are welcome to the intriguing concert of the Canadian Saxophone Quartet.
