Magnetic Bach
Baroque, contemporary and electronic music project
Aija Veismane (Latvia) - soprano
Ilze Grudule (Latvia/Switzerland) - baroque cello
Uģis Prauliņš (Latvia) - keyboards, electronica
Partiture rigor and improvisation, acoustic and electronic sounds, Baroque and contemporary music, tradition and modernity - all meet for a lively dialogue in the project Magnetic Bach.It is a special musical experience, where the differences that attract each other like a magnet merge into a harmonious whole, and the audience is invited to immerse themselves in a unique, indivisible musical space that is born right there. In 2019, the project has brought together three Swiss musicians: cellist Ilze Grudule, sound sculptor Vincent Flückiger and electronic musician Fred Chappuis. Currently, the project is joined by singer Aija Veismane and multi-artist composer Uģis Prauliņš. The programme of the project, presented at the festival, includes works by Baroque, 20th and 21st century composers, including Uģis Prauliņš, as well as electroacoustic improvisations.
