Hot summer. The families of Justė and Ernesta arrive at the homestead for a quiet weekend. Ernesta's husband has just celebrated a victory in the martial arts ring, so it's time for everyone to take a break. At first, everything seems as usual - a lake, music, an outdoor terrace with a barbecue, watching basketball, talking about loans and future plans. But slowly it starts to become clear that underneath the idyllic exterior of the relationship there are unspoken feelings, jealousy and competition. Time passes and the families' meeting takes an unexpected turn... It was supposed to be a quiet weekend at the farmhouse. Laurynas Bareiša (Pilgrims), winner of the Lion of the Venice Film Festival and four Silver Cranes, returns to the cinema screen with a psychological drama about adult relationships, jealousy and competition. The film had its world premiere in August in the main competition programme of the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, where it won the 2 main prizes for Best Director and Best Actor. The main roles in the drama "Sisters" were played by Gelminė Glemžaitė ("The Saint", "To Survive the Summer", "Millionaire for Himself", "Reemigrants"), Giedrius Kiela ("Pilgrims", "To Survive the Summer"), Paulius Markevičius ("Pilgrims", "To Survive the Summer" "The Poet"), Agnė Kaktaitė (Ko nezino vyrai).
