It is said that the eyes are the mirror of the soul, and the human voice is a unique instrument, capable of encompassing and transmitting the infinite spectrum of vibrations and sounds of the soul. The voice is the literal source of the soul, its wide and deep mirror. It has an extraordinary ability to create incredible harmonies and share their colours in communion with other voices. In this concert, together with the performers, our souls will sing in the rich and varied colours of opera stories. So on the second day of Christmas it will be a real blessing to plunge into these depths.
Simona Liamo studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (prof. I. Milkevičiūtė's class).), studied with V. Urmana, G. Grigorian, E. Batoukova Kerl, R. Lampsatytė, O. E. Tashkinaitė, C. Santoro, V. Dumestre, S. Maltsev, I. Dolzhenka and S. Stonytė. He has collaborated with conductors M. Barkauskas, J. Geniuš, V. Lukočius, M. Pitrėnas, G. Rinkevičius, M. Staskus, R. Šervenik, A. Šulčius, R. Šumila, K. Variakous and others. She is a laureate of the International Vilnius Youth Music Competition "Premio Scarlatti" (2022).
The soloist has a wide repertoire ranging from early to contemporary music, and often performs works by Lithuanian composers. Since 2012, she has been invited to participate in the programmes of the LNF ensemble Musica Humana (under the direction of A. Vizgirda and R. Beinaris). She has performed with the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra (dir. G. Rinkevičius), performing large-scale works (C. She has collaborated with the Čiurlionis Quartet, the contemporary music ensemble Synaesthesis, the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, etc., and has performed in renowned concert halls in Lithuania, Germany, Norway, Estonia, Estonia, Latvia and Ukraine. In 2024, the soloist has been invited to sing at the Hamburg International Summer Festival.
S. Liamo has performed the role of Teosena in G. M. Pagliardi's marionette opera Caligula with the early music ensemble Le Poeme Harmonique, and Juliet (V. Bellini's I Capuleti e I Montecchi, Mikaela (G. Bizet's Carmen), Xenia (M. Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov), Annina (G. Verdi's La Traviata), Blue (J. The singer was featured in the documentary film "I'll Talk for You" (dir. V. Vareikytė and M. Dejoie); together with the LNF ensemble "Musica Humana", she recorded the works of Lithuanian composers on the CDs "Time Reflections", "Visions", "Oboe Quintet LT"; together with the ensemble Synaesthesis, she released a CD "The Book of Beginnings and Endings", where she performed the music of A.
Nora Petročenko studied at the M. K. Čiurlionis National School of Arts, the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, and was trained by the renowned opera soloists A. Janutas, L. Chuchrova, participated in many masterclasses under the guidance of such eminent figures as Kevin Smith, Helmuth Rilling, Rolandas Muleika, Hermann Max, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Roberto Gini, Claudine Ansermet, David Gowland, Alessandro Pagliazzi, Roberto Balconi and others.
The soloist is frequently invited to perform the classical concert repertoire and to participate in various opera productions in France, Portugal, Germany and Lithuania. Baroque and contemporary music form an important part of her repertoire. She has sung with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, the St. Kristofors Chamber Orchestra, LNF Musica Humana, as well as with SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg (Germany), Remix Ensemble (Portugal), Ensemble Multilatérale (France), Spectra Ensemble (Belgium) and Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia (Belgium), "Capella Temporale, as well as with early music ensembles such as Banchetto musicale, Morgaine, Affectus Musicus, Brevis consort, Reversio, Arcadia consort, the Baltic Baroque Orchestra, the Baroque Opera Theatre Orchestra and others.
The singer is frequently invited to participate in prestigious festivals such as Musica (France), Berliner festspiele (Germany), Lucerne Festival (Switzerland), Roma Europa (Italy), Biennale Musica (Italy), Gaida, Thomas Mann, Pažaislis, Tytuvėnai, Banchetto Musicale, Curonian Spit, and many others.
Nora Petrochenko has enjoyed particular success and acclaim in her collaboration with the French Musical Theatre T&M/Paris, where she has created the following roles: Katerina di Medici (W. Mitterer's Massacre, dir. P. Rundel/directed by L. Lagarde), Fricka and Helmvige (R. Wagner/J. Dove's Ring Saga, dir. P. Rundel/Dir. Aliados (S. Rivas' Aliados, dir. L. Warynski / dir. A. Gindt), Margaret Thatcher (S. Rivas' Aliados, dir. L. Warynski / dir. A. Gindt).Aliados was awarded the Silver Lion Prize at the 2018 Venice Biennale.
The artist has also performed numerous roles in Lithuania, and has made recordings for CDs and the Lithuanian Radio Foundation.
Birutė Asevičiūtė is a laureate of international competitions, studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, and improved her piano skills in masterclasses with renowned professors Jack Weinrock (USA), A. Juozapėnaitė-Eesmaa (Estonia), Ulrich Eisenlohr (Germany), Heike-Dorothee Alardt (Germany), Helene Luyten (Belgium), Michel Tranchant (France), S. Maltsev (Russia), etc.
Atlikaja performs with such stars of the stage as M. Vitulskis, L. Mikalauskas, J. Vaskeviciute, O. Kolobovaitė, and many others, She has been a stage partner of Maestro Virgilijus Noreika. She frequently appears at various festivals (Permainų muzika, Tebūnie naktis, Pavasario gaida, Nasasario gaida, Nasheti miesteliai, Kai skamba ulicvės (Russia), M.K. Oginski International Festival (Belarus/Lithuania), and many others), and she also composes her own concert programmes. She is also a lecturer, giving presentations to Lithuanian teachers and musicians.
