The play Ikaras is a quest for dreams and motivation. What did the first people believe when they tried to get off the ground? What did the first attempts or devices to fly look like when others thought it impossible? It is an experience that encourages us to look for new solutions, to be creative about how and what we can spend our time on.
The performance uses elements of contemporary circus acrobatics interwoven with projections. It shows the first attempts to fly with various devices, jumping from caves with false wings, reminiscent of acrobats, evoking feelings of awe and fragility, a very important part of circus performances. A new relationship is sought between the performer and the visual material as equal or complementary stage elements.
