"I Want a Horse"
"I Want a Horse" is a children's fairy tale based on the play of the same name by Karolina Žernytė, based on the motifs of the old animation "The Big Frosts".
Probably everybody, both big and small, sees a vivid portrait of their mother in their childhood or in the memories of their own childhood. The performance "I Want a Horse" focuses on this bond between mother and child, on mutual understanding. Do you remember your desires and wishes for which you used to call the "goats" of the world? In the play, the protagonist, Little Girl, is driven by her desires and decides to set out in search of a new mother. She is accompanied by two magpies, who draw the audience into the action of the play. "All children need to be careful with their wishes, because it's not clear where those wishes can lead them", says the director of the performance Raimonda Kimbraitė.
There are no bright, modern installations here, the focus is on the fairy tale itself, the idea, not on the representation of it. "Not everything that is new is sweet, not everything that is old is together."
The fairy tale asks the children the question - is a new mother really better than the existing one? With the performance "I Want a Horse" at the Theatre Club, the creative group invites people to rediscover their relationship with their mothers, to realise that they need to cherish and love their mothers.
