Fume | "Mass Live"
Mass Live - discover the world of science fiction through music
The Lithuanian National Philharmonic will host the first live performance of the most ambitious project of the renowned artist Maximilian Oprishka-Fume - the album Mass, released in 2024. The multi-award-winning Vilnius City Municipality Choir Jauna muzika, conducted by artistic director, composer, composer and LAMT professor Vaclovas Augustinas, will perform on stage together.
Mass Live is more than a concert. It is an opportunity to discover science fiction in music, to hear and imagine the invisible world of interacting particles, gravitational forces and energy flows. At its epicentre are balancing opposing forces, symbols and dualism. Sacred choir voices intertwined with infinite contemporary electronics.
The visual performance is an integral part of Mass Live. Maximilian Oprishka, who has created computer graphics projects for companies such as Netflix, the History Channel and Cannes Lions, and Arvydas Buinauskas, one of the most acclaimed lighting designers in the Baltics, with the AB Light team, have put together a highly experienced team of professionals for the challenge.
It is not unusual to hear the genre of electronica on the stage of the National Philharmonic Hall, even though it is interwoven with neoclassical sounds. But on 13 March, the Philharmonic Hall will be transformed, opening its doors for just one evening to an intriguing world of particles, splitting atoms, choir voices and contemporary electronics.
About FUME
Maximilian Oprishka, known as Fume, has been making audiovisual art for over a decade, exploring futuristic, philosophical and science fiction themes.
In the contemporary music scene, Fume experiments with the boundaries between the genres of electronica and neoclassical. His discography already includes three conceptual albums. In 2018, Suru Records released Luminance, inspired by the physics of light, and in 2021, Data Sapiens, a new work that explores evolution and its consequences through operatic vocals, stringed instruments and analogue synths, was released on Suru Records.
Fume's most recent album is Mass, a vinyl record that has been in the making for three years and will be released in February 2024. This time, through musical means of expression, the album explores the great discoveries of science and the laws of astrophysics.
Fume produces soundtracks for commercials, films and performances. He has been nominated for the Golden Stage Cross and, with the creative team of Endurance, has received the B. Dauguvītis Earring Award for the exploration of new forms of stage expression.
