The long-awaited course on practical knowledge and skills:
Simultaneous recovery: The Anatomy of Death
What's it about?
The aim of the course is to educate people about a mature understanding of death, and to equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to prepare properly for the death of a loved one or their own death.
The target group is people who have been or will be present at the time of the dying person. The workshop is not only for medical professionals, but they also receive a lot of valuable information.
Why is this important?
The approach of death raises a lot of difficult questions that are hard to even think about. Moreover, in Lithuania, death is still a taboo subject. People like to remain calm and brave in a critical situation, and for this it is important to have the knowledge and skills that participants will acquire during the "conscious farewell" course.
After taking the "Conscious Goodbye" course, you will make fewer painful mistakes, understand how to accept bad news calmly, and finally, go through the grieving process smoothly.
PROGRAM:
Backgrounds With the improvement of the standard of living and medical science, more and more people are surviving for a longer time than before. An ageing population poses a serious challenge to health and social service systems. We will discuss how to prepare for a situation in which the needs of the dying will need to be cared for by society rather than by doctors and nurses.
A mature understanding of death. The way we behave depends on what we believe. It will explain in a scientific and understandable way what a mature understanding of death is and why it is important for an adult.
Preliminary Instructions. Very clear advice will be given on what to look out for before death, how not to get lost in the chaos of thoughts, how to talk to loved ones and medical staff about impending death.
Towards Death: Symptoms and their management. Death has early and late signs, which have a regular pattern. Understanding the patterns of death can help predict and prepare for the onset of symptoms.
Rituals and their importance. How do rituals affect the grieving process? How to plan a funeral? Important nuances of saying goodbye.
The seminar consists of 2 parts of 1.5 hours each with a small break in between.
