World premiere of the work for the Lithuanian National Library of Martynas Mažvydas (with a tour of the library and a conversation with the composer)
One of the most famous European composers, the Austrian Beat Furrer can be called a classic of modern music. His work and activities had a considerable influence on the formation of all Western contemporary music on the continent, on different generations of creators until today. The composer in Vilnius was attracted by the Lithuanian National Library of Martynas Mažvydas, which we can name with the unusual term "home of history for the future".
By preserving the development of the thought of our country and the whole world over the last few centuries, while actively participating in the processes of today's society, this place has become a symbol of national identity. The exceptional architecture of the library, its acoustics, history and present - all this impressed the Austrian composer. He created a composition for vocals, bass clarinet and accordion for this space. The world premiere of the work will be complemented by a special tour of the library, as well as a meeting with the composer.
