Juan Ignacio Tula / Cie 7BIS (Argentina / France) | INSTANTLY
Circus artist and dancer Juan Ignacio Tula explores the metaphorical possibilities of the Wheel of Cyrus in Instantane. By changing the balance of power and counterbalance between the metal wheel and his body, he expresses a centrifugal force and opens the space to all sorts of possibilities. The simple, repetitive motion of spinning causes the body to become exhausted, and the blindness caused by the continuous spiraling awakens the survival instinct; the body becomes fully involved, reaching a point where time and space border on infinity. "Instante" embodies a journey to the center of ourselves, brings us to the edge of hypnosis, disrupts our relationship with time, and Juan himself offers himself as a mirror to make sense of humanity. It is an unforgettable, mesmerizing experience.
