Event description
An eight-year-old child is searching for his real name - one that fits the feeling inside. He doesn't want to be called Aitor, a name from birth. The nickname Koko makes him feel a little more solid. His family and the people around him address him differently, which is disconcerting. Spending an eventful summer in the Basque Country, among the beehives, the very different women of the family and new friends, opens up new perspectives for the child, and makes it clear how to reconcile his inner feelings and the way he sees things.
"In terms of atmosphere, sensitivity and the way it deals with family relationships, this film is close to last year's popular Alcaraz. The debutant Basque director uses the metaphor of the bee and the hive, which helps to further understand how each member of the family is interconnected and dependent on each other. The hive, like the family depicted in the film, is dominated by women, and the viewer observes how differently each of them understands what it means to be and feel like a woman."
