In this exhibition, the artist travels back to the past stages of her childhood and youth, rediscovering her essence. The movements of the body in the carvings are eloquent, not accidental - they reflect feelings. A dynamic composition prevails, which seems to reflect the frenzy of life, and at the same time something very important and essential that never changes. "The theme of childhood is fundamental in my work. For a long time I avoided this theme because I didn't want to venture into that controversial world. Thanks to this journey inside my child, I have become a different person. I stopped being afraid of myself, I understood a lot about myself and I calmed down," says artist Kristina Norvilaitė. The artist's works are created in linocut and mixed media and printed on canvas. The paintings are dominated by bright colours, expressive line drawing and vibrant compositions. The intensity of the colours in these graphic works is organically combined with a minimalist aesthetic. "Laiptų galerii" (Žemaitės g. 83, Šiauliai) will be open until 12 January 2025.
