"Stranger in Us All" (1995) is the eighth studio album by British hard rock legends Rainbow, following a twelve-year hiatus. Released in the 1990s at the peak of grunge's popularity, this collection of songs became a beacon for hard'n'heavy music, which was in a pretty deep crisis at the time. The album was supposed to be the solo work of guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, but due to record company pressure it was released under the banner of Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow. The band leader then did what he had done throughout his career: he brought in several little-known musicians, including vocalist Doogie White, to record the album. This became Ritchie's last rock album, as he and his lifelong friend Candice Night then formed Blackmore's Night, a project that took a modern interpretation of medieval music.
