Michael Kiwanuka, one of the most important artists of this decade, returns to the capital
New names and concerts are announced! Michael Kiwanuka, who has already wiped away tears in Vilnius and "healed" the hearts of local music lovers, returns to Lithuania. One of the most important artists of this decade will give an exclusive performance in Kalnų Park, Vilnius on 31 May. The British music star will present his latest work here. The most beautiful concert of the season is on the cards, once again courtesy of the music agency 8 Days A Week. The continuation of the beautiful friendship with Kiwanuka.
Today, the British singer's social networks have been updated with the tour schedule. We are happy people - Michael Kiwanuka will visit Lithuania again at the end of spring. Of course, not alone, but with the whole band. Aha, it's Kiwanuka's second time in Lithuania! It's good to see Vilnius in his plans again. Yes, we are very, very lucky. We are looking forward to the best script and a wonderful outdoor performance in Kalnų Park! Jungle, Jacob Collier, Foals and many others have played here. No phones or cameras can convey the feeling that Michael is broadcasting from the stage. There will be music from all stages of Kiwanuka's career.

About Michael Kiwanuka
This artist evokes nothing but good emotions. Michael speaks in songs and invites us to listen. He is true to others and, above all, to himself. Amazing soundtracks, unique things of the heart, meaningful lyrics and music performed live by himself and a group of musicians.
Sliding through the clouds, balance and peace in a constant flow - Pitchfork reviews the sound of Michael Kiwanuka's latest album Small Changes. "DIY Magazine says the latest album is intimate, confident and the more you listen, the more magical it sounds. Interestingly, the album about change reflects a change in his own music making. "Winning the Mercury Prize freed me from despair and the desire to please. It made me realise that I only want to create what comes out of me naturally," Kiwanuka says of a kind of "wake-up call".
We waited three years to meet Michael for the first time. The pandemic kept getting in the way. It was definitely worth the wait. It was one of the most beautiful concerts in the history of the agency, but not everybody got to meet him. On the day of the concert, there was a soldouto sign at the entrance to the Cairene Botanical Garden. We strongly urge you to get your tickets in advance.
Michael Kiwanuka plays from the heart. Kiwanuka's sincerity is to be envied. He is the voice of our generation, a critical favourite, a wonderful composer and a very sincere person. Behind him is the influential publishing company Polydor. Without chasing fashion, money or fame, Michael has won many hearts around the world with his work and today he is living his dream. He has received everything he never expected - a Mercury Prize, Grammy and Brit Award nominations and more. He doesn't try to convince anyone, but everyone believes in him. He is one of those musicians who can't not create. Michael trusts his feelings and they never let him down.
When you see the names of Kiwanuka's collaborators and producers, you can't help but think that Small Changes is more than good. The list is headlined by Danger Mouse, whose client list includes names like Gorillaz, Black Keys and Gnarls Barkley. Inflo, who has contributed to the sound of Sault, Adele and Cleo Sol. And that's not all. Michael Kiwanuka's Lowdown also features legendary bassist Pino Palladino (who has worked with D'Angelo, John Mayer and Beyoncé) and Jimmy Jan from the cult duo Jam and Lewis.
Time is running out - since his last visit to the capital, Michael Kiwanuka has become a father (an experience he says has given him a wingspan), and has relocated from his hometown London. It is great to hear that this artist is only going up. This year, among his many concerts, Michael Kiwanuka played at Glastonbury Festival. He is celebrated in the media as one of the best songwriters who soothe the soul. A solid baggage and an amazing catalogue of music set him apart from the rest.
As a child he listened to Duster, Nirvana, Blur, Graham Coxon and asked himself why there were no dark-skinned people on the stage and in music magazines. From the very beginning, Michael resisted the label's offer of a pseudonym, and the themes of identity and the struggle for black rights are still relevant in his work today.
Michael Kiwanuka has always been close to us. Many of us have spent a lot of time with his work. When Kiwanuka came out in 2019, The Guardian raved that it was "The best album of the decade" and Q Magazine called it "A career-defining masterpiece" and they were right. Many people jump up after such leaps and bounds and try to repeat their success, but Michael Kiwanuka is not many. "Singing about faith is difficult. I wanted to be tough," Michael told The Guardian, but in the end he stayed true to himself and once again won the hearts of many.
This year saw the release of his latest album, Small Changes, which has confirmed Michael Kiwanuka as one of the most important artists of his generation. "The Guardian hailed the album as a "dream come true", gave it five stars out of five and said in black and white that it was an "exceptional comeback". The lyrics are more important here than ever. The album cover features an exclusive childhood photo of Michael. The album itself has become a permanent fixture in the library and has been well received in Lithuania. At 37, Michael hasn't yet recovered from imposter syndrome, but he has dared to speak out about what happened 10 years ago. Each song on his latest album is about a small change in his own life. The struggle with depression, difficult childhood experiences, the ups and downs of marriage, family - these are just some of the stories behind the songs. "Our lives are made up of change. They are difficult, overwhelming, out of control, but inevitable," Michael Kiwanuka sums up the album.
Happiness and success. This will be his only concert in the Baltic States and his second in Lithuania. The occasion is big and important. Don't miss this amazing concert!
Michael, Vilnius is waiting for you again! 31 May will come very soon.
This concert in Kalnų Park will definitely be a thing of unexpected proportions.
You will enjoy it, you won't be disappointed.
