Event description
A book is read in many different ways: by text, by sight, by touch, by a memorable smell, by the rustle of the pages being turned or by personalisation... the variety of readings is vast. Everyone experiences and reads a book in their own way. The bookish explorations of the eight postgraduate students are composed in the exhibition as if in a novel: memories rescued from ruin are intertwined with the glitter of loving papers, barely tangible scents are condensed, the courage to smear is contrasted with the void as if it were a call to touch the supposed cleanliness with dirty fingers, the findings of long-abandoned trinkets are complemented by the meaning of today's everyday life, and the contrasting opposites are intriguing like in a whodunit. The exhibition reflects on the breadth and depth of the book, and unravels various empirical puzzles. Among them, perhaps the one that, like a tender feeling, is also giving you peace of mind. The exhibition will be on view at the VAA gallery "5 malūnai" (Malūnų g. 5, Vilnius) until 22 January.
