William Byrd (1540–1623) was a brilliant musical innovator who modernized playing the harpsichord. The spiritual sensuality of his music has captivated performers and art connoisseurs for over a century. Byrd's work was rediscovered and appreciated in the 20th century. at the beginning, when he became interested in the repertoire of old music. The time of Byrd's life can without any doubts be called the "golden age" of music: in England, there was interest in European creativity, there was international communication and cooperation between musicians, and the improvement of professional skills, reaching the highest level.
In England, the genre of dance music was significantly developed, various and different variations were sought not only in the creative heritage of the native country, but also Italian, Spanish, Flemish, French originals were used, and new excellent, refined versions of them were created.
This special occassional concert pays tribute to the impressive 16th and 17th century England. the world of music.
