Interwar architecture in Kaunas will be added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2023. And for good reason, Kaunas is one of the few European cities that can boast such an abundance of modernist buildings from this period. We will show you the most special, exceptional and representative examples of this unique heritage, but we will not only talk about the buildings, but also about the people who created them and the people who lived in them. You will hear which buildings are called "skyscrapers", which building is adorned with portraits of its owners and who was the famous tulip-flowered "national style"? You will find out which architect was famous not only for his works but also for his bohemian life, which architect's cows grazed almost in the very centre of Kaunas, and which architect liked to fly planes in his spare time.
