Trio "Alliance" Viačeslavas Ganelin, Petras Vyšniauskas, Arkadijus Gotesmanas (IL / LT)
The saxophone visionary Petras Vyšniauskas is one of the most outstanding figures of Lithuanian jazz, the pioneer of the professional school of the saxophone and the guru of different styles. His musical palette combines the freedom of jazz improvisation, the precision of academic music and folk influences, giving his sound an authenticity. Vyšniauskas has performed all over the world, from prestigious festivals in Europe to five World Expo exhibitions, and his saxophone has been heard in the Prague and New York Philharmonics. He has collaborated with the choirs of Paris Radio and the Metropolitan Opera in New York, as well as world-class jazz stars such as Polish jazz legend Tomasz Stanko, American saxophonist Charlie Mariano and avant-garde jazz leader John Zorn.
The rhythmic ace, percussionist Arkadiy Gotesman, has a distinctive style that goes beyond the traditional jazz framework. He is more than a musician - he is a true philosopher of the stage, combining theatre, poetry and visual arts. Having collaborated with many world-class musicians, Gotesman is also the mastermind behind a wide range of interdisciplinary projects, from silent film soundtracks to avant-garde performances.
In Vilnius Mama Jazz Festival, the trio Alliance will present their latest album Live at Organum 2023.
V. The names of Ganelin, P. Vyšniauskas and A. Gotesman have long been established as symbols of Lithuanian jazz. Their contribution to the culture is evidenced by numerous major national and international awards. However, their greatest value is not only their recognition, but also their constant inspiration for new generations of jazz musicians, whose representatives successfully continue their creative legacy.
