"THEY WOULDN'T ALLOW ME JEWELRY AND SNEAKERS"
“When I was growing up, people told me that I couldn't achieve everything I wanted in life; that I could not be a good teacher and a good musician; that I could not play classical and rock; so I couldn't touch jazz or pop. In my first year, I wasn't even allowed to wear jewelry to class and certainly no sneakers to concerts! Later, my colleagues, teachers told me that I should focus only on one genre, because in their opinion, people only listen to one genre and live in a box! They were wrong, and I'm so glad I didn't listen to any of them!"
