Flashing light is used in the performance."Materia" explores the possibilities of a single material, polystyrene, to the point where it comes to life, becoming the protagonist of the action on stage. The performer takes on the role of mediator, and attention is constantly calibrated between the object, the manipulator and the manipulation. The material leads and is led from the indecisive movement characteristic of a delicate meeting to an independent tool, a percussive soundscape. Drifting between peace and darkness, between discovery and destruction. The piece tries not to impose a narrative, but to allow the audience to project their own narrative onto the images displayed on stage. In this score, objects are free to act and take initiative.Andrea Salustri comes from Rome, where he learned contact juggling, fire manipulation, and worked as a street artist. Graduated with honors in philosophy from La Sapienza University of Rome, later decided to move to Berlin to study contemporary dance. She completed an intensive dance program at the Berlin Tanzfabrik, then obtained a dance and choreography diploma at the HZT University of Berlin. Andrea is 2018-2019. Winner of Circusnext.
