Fantastically active musical hooligans - the group "Very Cool People" - invite you to ironically remember the past in their new album. Latvia's most famous jazz and funk music group "Very Cool People" continues its artistic flight at an unlimited height. Their eighth album "50 years of influence + 30 years of toughness = 13 years of music hooliganism" is a positive musical irony about the turbulent new history of Latvia. The group also presents a new video clip for the fifth single "Quick dough - Pelmjashki".
The band members dedicate this album of instrumental music to their teachers and previous musical generations who helped jazz and rock'n'roll survive behind the Iron Curtain and survive the crazy 90s in the Baltic States. The allusion to this is evident already in the album's title - in the album, jazz intertwines with classical music, Balkan music meets metal, surf - with funk and soul music, choir music - with klezmer and other musical heritage of people living in Latvia. This is the band's eighth album and fifth consecutive release since 2017. The band keeps its promise to release stylistically different albums every year, paying tribute to the music culture of the past.
