"Trauma porn" is an experimental installation that explores trauma as a long-term consequence of war.
Using photographs of Nazi Germany and World War II as a source of images, the artist tries to recreate the traumatic memories of his father, then sixteen years old, who was caught in the meat grinder of war, using the tool of AI.
A totalitarian regime needs people to carry out its crimes - but it also needs those who will support the ideology and those who will contribute by their passivity. This artist's exhibition is precisely about the latter. It is an attempt to break into the consciousness of the average person, who would seem to be immersed in a deep swamp, with no way out.
In order to be impartial, Boris collaborated with Bangladeshi artist Tanvir Taolad to reveal the timeless power of the visual. Spanish photographer Carlos Collado helped him create images with the help of artificial intelligence.
This work documents the roots of our history and, unfortunately, its tendency to repeat itself. Therefore, the work is dedicated to the brave people of Ukraine.
Content warning: the installation shows authentic images of the war, children must visit the exhibition with their parents, the recommended age limit is 16 years.
