Pablo De Sarasate - "Spanish Dances": Malagenja and Habanera, Op. 21; "Basque caprice" ("Capricho vascho"), op. 24 (Arrangements by Tomas Petrikis for violin and orchestra)
In this traditional festive concert with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, as many as four solo violinists appear - Sergejus Krylovas, Džeraldas Bidva, Milda Kraujutaitytė and Ulijona Pugačiukaitė-Mažeikienė. The first part of the concert will feature baroque music - Johann Sebastian Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 3 and Concerto for three violins in D major and Georg Friedrich Händel's Concerto grosso no. 11 in A major from the Twelve Great Concertos, Op. 6.
The second part of the concert will sparkle with the colors, melodies and rhythms of Spanish music - these are the cycles and miniatures of contemporaries Joaquin Turina, Manuel de Falla and Pablo de Sarasate: sensual, passionate, virtuosic.
