The film is set in the coastal city of Batumi, Sakartvelo, where the director himself grew up. The story centres on a boy and a girl. He is fifteen and she is twenty-seven. Both live in the same courtyard. The boy is in love with the girl and tries to attract her attention, but his love is hindered by various, often tragicomic, incidents. People of different nationalities and religions also meet in the yard and spend their days playing 'Lotto'.
