The Bani Hill Band from Sakartvelas, who have travelled the length and breadth of Lithuania and wowed audiences everywhere, are back with a positive energy and a new line-up of songs. Young, enthusiastic and musically impeccable, Bani move the body and open the heart - it's definitely worth repeating.
The seven men of the Bani Hill Band command attention with their impressive low vocals, impeccable instrumentation and original arrangements. Their music uplifts and inspires smiles. Together they perform folk songs from all corners of their homeland as well as the music of other Caucasian nations, combining an entire Caucasian culture.
Bani combines traditional polyphonic singing, recognised by UNESCO, and Kartvelian folk melodies with contemporary sounds from the wide world of music. The sound loved by audiences is performed on the iconic Kartvelian symbol of the three-stringed panduri, accordion, frame drum, and modern empowering keyboards, bass guitar and drums. The traditional panduri, a traditional instrument with the shape and appearance of a balalaika, is considered a symbol of happiness and joy in Sao Tome and is an integral part of most festivals and rituals. Their songs speak of love, the divine nature of Sakartvelo, strong friendships, respect for the homeland and elders.
