Violoncello virtuosos Melo-M from Latvia: we "play with our feet" at every performance
The image of Melo-M as classical costumes and instruments is said to be deceiving - their performances rarely follow a planned script, and it's not only the audience that gets up from their seats, but also the performers themselves. The Latvian cello virtuosos will give three performances in Lithuania in April and May, where they will enchant the audience with their ability to vary from classical rock to pop hits.
"The beauty of music is that you never have to stick to one genre. We believe that the most significant thing is the melody, which we play with cellos. That's why our name is Melo-M - Melody Mania," said Karlis Auzans, the band's leader, when announcing their upcoming performances.
The trio, which was formed 20 years ago, promises to bring to Lithuania the best compilation of existing melodies. Perhaps the well-known "Final Countdown" - one of the most important tunes in Melo-M's career - will be played. Their version of this song has become one of the most popular in the world.
