PETRAS GENIUŠAS, GEDIMINAS GELGOTAS AND NIKO ENSEMBLE: "ERA OF EXPRESSION"

For the first time, representatives of classical music, who have made Lithuania's name famous all over the world, will meet on stage for a joint concert - pianist Petras Geniušas and the Vilnius city ensemble NIKO, led by composer Gediminas Gelgotas.During the concert "Era of Expression", the continuous search for forms of musical expression by P. Geniušas and G. Gelgotas, distinguished by their spirit of experimentation and virtuosic technique, will be merged into a coherent narrative. It can be said that "Era of Expression"   -    is a kind of generalization, marking the direction of contemporary classical music performance in Lithuania, which is also set by the musicians appearing on stage.

With Maestro Petras Geniuš, the evening's programme will be performed by the Vilnius City Ensemble NIKO - the performances of this stringed instrument group have become a phenomenon that brings together music lovers, innovation enthusiasts and an audience that appreciates memorable cultural events.

The event will feature minimalist and post-minimalist works by Philip Glass, Henryk Mikolaj Gurecki, Gediminas Gelgotas and other well-known composers, taking the audience on a journey through the cinematic landscapes of contemporary classical music. "Ekspresijos Era symbolises a bridge between the deep legacy of these composers and the innovative spirit of our artists.

The premiere of the concert programme Ekspresijos Era promises an exceptional, unforgettable musical experience, which will become one of the most important events in the classical music calendar of 2024.
