History needs stories, and by telling them, we become part of those stories. History needs people, both those present today and those already speaking with the voice of eternity. History connects everyone, bringing them together on the same path - the path of a century - which can only be repeated in imagination and memory.
Meeting in Vilnius Cathedral Square, participants and spectators of the Song Celebration will wake up together, sing together, and the story of the Song Celebration's century of history will be recalled by memory and imagination. The concert programme will invite you to hear the voice of memory if it is not only mine but all of us. What is the language of the imagination, recognisable and understandable to those who started the century and those who continue it today? On the evening of the centenary, they will meet, talk and recognise each other - from memory, from language, from voice.
