On the penultimate night of the "Midsummer Vilnius" festival, the poets of romantic alternative rock - "Garbanots" - will give their heart on stage. On July 27, they will appear in an unusual, never-before-heard line-up - together with a string quartet and harps.
"On a summer evening heated by the life of the city and nature, to vibrate the air with strings and to release our most beautiful songs into the sky from the very heart of the city - - - accompanied by violins, violas and harps. Bringing back the memories of the old city and interweaving them with today's life. What could be better? A pure midsummer night's dream", - this is the vision of the performance of the band "Garbanots".
In the courtyard of the Palace of Lords, songs from Metro's latest full album "Kūnas dangaus" will be heard, which will immerse the listeners in a dizzying ecstasy of light music and poetry.
In a little more than a decade, the collective released six studio albums, organized concerts for the presentation of these albums in major cities of Lithuania, and visited 13 foreign countries.
Their performances were watched by the audience at such festivals as "Great Escape" (England), "Liverpool Sound City" (England), "Ment Ljubljana" (Slovenia), "Reeperbahn" (Germany), "Tallinn Music Week" (Estonia), " Positivus" (Latvia), "Europavox" (France).
The work of the group "Garbanotas" is full of all kinds of emotions - both sad tones and joyful echoes sound in their music. As they say, they draw inspiration from various life experiences and everyday events.
For its musical activity, the collective won awards in Lithuania and beyond: Lithuanian T.Ė.T.Ė alternative music awards - "Rock Group of the Year" award (2013), M.A.M.A awards - "Metų alternativnos" (2015), At the "Tallinn Music Week" festival in Estonia, the group was awarded the "Audience Favorite" (2016) award.
