Event description

Of these 12 images, 10-15% were created using artificial intelligence, while 85-90% were created by graphic reproduction specialists who combined two different 3D applications. The result is two to five 3D effect paintings that allow you to immerse yourself in and experience the worlds of M.K. Čiurlionis. The project presents paintings by Čiurlionis, reproduced in 3D: "Peace" (1904/1905), "The Message" (1904/1905), painting VI from the cycle "Creation of the World" (1905/1906), "Fellowship" (1906/1907), painting II from the triptych "The Fairy Tale" (1907), the "Sonata No. 5 (Sea Sonatas) in the Finale (1908), Sonata No. 6 (Star Sonatas) in the Allegro (1908), Fairy Tale (Castle Tale) (1909), Angel (Angel Prelude) (1909), Angels (Paradise) (1909) and Rex (1909). Looking at Čiurlionis's paintings, one wonders what kind of artist he would be nowadays - would he be a defender of classical art traditions, or would he dive into all the possibilities that technology offers? Knowing that Čiurlionis was interested in all the new developments at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, both scientific and artistic: photography, the latest trends in art (music and art), theories of the formation of the cosmos and the planets, Egyptian exploration, psychology, and he was certainly exposed to the cinema and aeroplanes, we can conclude that, even if he did not make use of the innovations, he would certainly have been following them closely. The exhibition will be open at the M. K. Čiurlionis Museum of Art (V. Putvinskio g. 55, Kaunas) until 31 December 2025.
