In the context of the World Power Struggle, dystopia, as the worst-case scenario, evokes existential guilt and anxiety. The war that marks the future trajectories of the World is deeply disturbing and is the main "apocalyptic fantasy" of recent times. The human being, as the main protagonist at the epicentre of events, shapes political and ethical narratives and the inner transformations of the global world. With this work I aim to rethink the vision of the future of the World. I invite you to look at the rational and irrational human being, the snoozing consciousness that is intertwined in time and being. "Loreta Švaikauskienė is one of the most renowned Lithuanian artists working in the fields of contemporary textile art and design, and in 2014 she was awarded the State Scholarship of the Republic of Lithuania for Creators of Art and Culture. Over the last decade, combining various textile techniques (stuffing, sewing, embroidery), L. Švaikauskienė has created works of stunning size and visual appeal, whose impact is enhanced by a unique artistic tool - the manipulation of materiality. The artist sews textile objects from synthetic fabrics that convey the impression of metal or porcelain. The ornamentation of Ancient Egyptian, Renaissance, Baroque or Romantic periods in textile panels or stylized mirror frames elevates even a functional object created for the interior towards a contextually reflective work." - art historian, dr.
