International Jazz Day - TOP PERFORMERS AND PREMIERE PROGRAMME

A two-part concert dedicated to the International Jazz Day will take place on 28 April at Panevėžys Cultural Centre.

One of the initiators of this project is Arūnas Viduolis, the leader of the Pan Big Band Jazz Orchestra. The big band will premiere a new programme, which is being prepared for summer jazz festivals at home and abroad.

The big band will be accompanied by the orchestra's singer Rūta Švipaitė.

It is impossible to have a day like this without a guest. For the first time in Panevėžys we will hear the Klaipėda Jazz Quartet, who will perform the second part of the concert.

The quartet will feature the country's foremost jazz musicians:

Vytautas Grubliauskas - trumpet, vocals;

Saulius Šiaučiulis - piano;

Laimonas Urbikas - saxophones, vocals;

Edmundas Federavičius - percussion.

International Jazz Day has been celebrated around the world for several years now, on the initiative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
