Pianist and composer Giedrius Nakas, known to many from his concert activities with such Lithuanian artists and bands as "Saulės Kliošas", A. Mamontovas, Jurga, M. Linkytė, M. Liu, Vilnius Jjazz Ensemble and many others.
In 2018, his name was heard in the world of jazz when he released an album of his works, No Fear, Full Of Love, recorded in New York together with renowned jazz musicians such as J. Brown, B. Williams, T. Roberts, C. Curtis, A. Engibaryan, V. Gould. Giedrius has already released four albums of his own work.
202020 G. Nakas released a vocal soul/r'n'b/pop album "Spells", on which he sings his own Lithuanian songs, but stylistically the music has a more 'American' sound, with wide harmonies, lots of backing voices and hypnotic rhythms.
2021's The Dream I Forgot, recorded in Riga, is more atmospheric and somewhat syncopated, balancing between jazz, classical, rock and film music. Often the compositions are longer in duration and consist of more than 2-3 movements, like a narrative that has several characters, different, contrasting locations or a developing plot. The works are not focused on individual artistry alone, but more on a group sound, a dramaturgical line and a slowly unfolding narrative, leaving room for the listener's thoughts and interpretations.
