XXIX Pažaislis Music Festival will come to the reviving Zemoji Panemunė Manor for the first time! On 11 August, this exceptional place where historical mystery and natural beauty meet will invite you to travel along the forgotten paths and trails of history. At 15:00, a picnic "Lunch on the grass" organised by "One Frenchman's Pantry" and "La Petite Patisserie" will await participants. This elegant picnic, which is already a legend, is a feast not only for food but also for knowledge. As usual at these picnics, in the interests of sustainability and cosiness, you are invited to bring a cosy blanket, a small wooden table, reusable tools for picking up delicacies, a favourite glass and a favourite detail to make your impromptu picnic area even more cosy.
Žemoji Panemune Manor is a forgotten 17th century Sapiegas palace, hiding a magnificent history of almost 400 years. Rasa Jakelienė, the owner of the estate, will share the secrets of the history of the decaying manor. And what's a manor without music! If the walls of the manor were to speak, it would be curious to hear what kind of music has been played in this manor at different times. Unfortunately, various disasters have scarred not only the Zemoji Panemune Palace, but also a large part of Lithuanian culture, into oblivion. However, there are no forgotten stories that the charming musicologist Viktoras Gerulaitis can't find, so you'll hear a lot of secrets about music in Lithuanian mansions!
In a picnic box for two people: a few types of authentic French cheese, French pastries and some sweet treats. They are available until 6 August (or until tickets run out).
At 5 pm. Zemoji Panemunė Manor will be filled with the enchanting sounds of music performed by the VMU Chamber Orchestra, soloists Gabrielė Bukinės and Joris Rubinovas, and conductor Vytautas Lukočius.
Founded in 2011 at the Academy of Music of the Vytautas Magnus University, the VMU Chamber Orchestra is the only professional chamber orchestra in Kaunas. In the relatively short period of its existence, the orchestra has already performed more than 200 concerts in Lithuania and abroad, and has toured Cyprus, Germany, the United States and Sakartveld. The soloists of this concert are the young Lithuanian opera stars Gabrielė Bukinė and Joris Rubinovas. The concert programme invites the audience to travel through different eras and countries whose culture is closely linked to Lithuanian manors.
Let's discover the mysteries of forgotten history together in the revival of Žemoji Panemunė Manor!
