"Surprised, frightened glances meet us, fingers pointing at us, and we dive through each other into the darkness. Over the years we have learned to avoid people. We watch them, but we don't go near them; if they corner us, we attack them. We meet all kinds of people. People with their heads down, balancing on their toes, crying because they have failed to adapt to the changes of time. We pass a curious man with his forefinger twitching with excitement, watching from a distance a fight that has broken out in the blink of an eye. He listens to the muffled pinches, the blows, until the blood vessels between the tissues burst and slowly swell. The sounds of the thrashing are very different from those heard in action films." (A.
