Gifted with the powers of the gods and not lacking in a sense of humor, Aquaman is the son of a man and a sea goddess (the legendary Atlantean queen of Atlantis). Having reconciled the inhabitants of the sea and the land, he has been enjoying a peaceful family life for some time.

But the underwater harmony is disrupted by Black Manta, a ruthless pirate and mercenary bent on getting rid of Aquaman and avenging his father's death. When he finds the legendary Black Trident with black magic powers, Aquaman realizes that he cannot stand alone against such a force. With no other choice, he turns to his previously defeated "beloved" brother Orm for help.

Orm, freed from prison, is also not bursting with gratitude, but he understands that this time there are more important things than teaching his insolent brother. Along with the current queen of Atlantis, Mera, mother Atlana, and other allies, Aquaman defends not only his native Atlantis, but all seven underwater kingdoms from destruction and oblivion.
