Tree of Life Ensemble Evening Dress Rehearsal

The dress rehearsal will feature the full Ensemble Evening programme, with full sets and costumes. During the rehearsal, comments from the creative team, pauses and retakes are possible.

The Ensembles' Evening is distinguished by its authentic three-layered composition. It consists of three elements: a choir performing Lithuanian folk songs and compositions written by composers especially for this concert, a folk instrument orchestra and a folk dance group. The ensemble evening "The Tree of Life" is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the programme of the Lithuanian Song Celebration celebrating its centenary in 2024.

The composers and performers of the ensemble evening will interpret the tree of life as a world concept. The four divine elements - Fire, Air, Water and Earth - will meet in the programme to cultivate the nation's tree of life.

New folk songs written especially for the Song Festival will sound modern without losing their originality, choral singing will be intertwined with folklore, and new works by folk music bands and folk instrument orchestras will have a special sound.

The life-giving interaction of the elements will be reflected in the choreographic solutions of the Ensemble Evening programme: folklore dance will be combined with folk and contemporary dance on stage. Complementing and contrasting each other, they will create an unforgettable spectacle, which will be enhanced by special costumes, state-of-the-art video and lighting technologies, and stage design.

The theatrical programme of the Evening of the Ensembles will be performed by more than 4,000 singers, musicians and dancers. There will be well-known and popular pieces and as many as 20 new compositions created especially for this programme.
