Three actors are auditioning for a new play that is considered scandalous. Their relationships are complicated: Sebastian is an unstable alcoholic, in debt and having previously killed his former business partner. He is having an affair with Thea, a tense, fragile woman prone to outbursts of anger and married to Sebastian's new partner Hans. The film "Rituals" is austere and introspective, created for Swedish television and was modest in its scale.
