The ensemble Ainiai, together with tango dancers, will surprise its audience with an unexpected project - welcoming the listener with the rhythm of dance and the unusual Argentine tango. The programme will captivate not only with the sound of the best-known tango compositions and the mise-en-scene prepared especially for this programme, but also with the choreographic movements of the compositions.
The Argentine tango is an inseparable image of nightlife. It was banned as soon as it appeared at the end of the 19th century, but it eventually made its way to Europe and captivated it. The tango bug was spread by Argentine dancers and musicians who came to Paris in search of happiness. Once it was recognised in Europe, the tango returned to Buenos Aires, where it grew in popularity and today is enjoying a renaissance. The ensemble's new programme includes a number of compositions that are known as tango classics. Carlos Gardel's Por Una Cabeza, composed in the last century, and Astor Piazzolla's Adios Nonino are known as the calling cards of tango. As well as a whole range of vocal and instrumental compositions, the original arrangements were created by the ensemble's concertmaster and birby player Narimantas Murauskas. The Argentine tango is not just a dance, it is a story about our lives and the strings of our souls that resound within them. This time they will be heard in the original overtones of authentic instruments: concert cannons, birbini, etc., accompanied by the fiery compositions of Argentine tango dancers.
