Austieja is a creator of music and poetry, whose distinctive feature is her songs performed in Samogitian, interwoven with subtle elements of music and nature. On 11 May, together with her band, she will give a spring concert "To esi pasaka" at Kaunas Philharmonic. According to the artist, every performance on stage is "like a conversation with Man, searching for him within oneself. A trap for thoughts - here and now. Talking, listening, the power of hearing. Going from the heart to the heart. It is an invitation to follow together the tale of Life."
The creator immerses the audience in a sense of tenderness, beauty. It is given by the Samogitian language, which word by word weaves a flow of expressive vowels, the singer's voice, which at times rings out high and pure, at other times muffled like the rustling of leaves in the forest, and the unexpected poetry of her songs. Austieja is joined on stage by Deividas Pileckas (piano), Tadas Petkevičius-Grajauskas (guitar) and Robertas Tamošiūnas (drums). They are a team of talented, professional musicians with an intuitive feel for music.
The concert will feature one of the most famous pieces "Žiaurē graži žėima" and other songs that speak just as much - "Opė", "Vuorā", "Slėiks", "100piu". Each song is an invitation to appreciate something, to discover something, to love more strongly, and most importantly - not to forget one's own language, home, homeland.
"This song is a cry of hope for me, a light in a black night when you don't know where to go. A deep-breathing love that carries the weight of the world in its arms. From this weight this song was born, pulling from the night to hope", - the author introduces "Žiaurē graži žėima".
Austieja is her own songwriter, a soloist, and accompanies herself on violin and piano. Both in life and in music she communicates only in Samogitian, which is a better language to express her feelings and thoughts. The Samogitian language is spoken by about 100 thousand people in Lithuania.
