IDA PELLICCIOLI, a talented young Italian pianist of the younger generation, who regularly performs in Europe, Canada and South Africa, invites you to a piano recital, where she will be performing an exceptional programme of transcriptions of Bach's works for the audience of the Kaunas Philharmonic.
According to the pianist herself, the aim of this programme is to remind us of the dual musical potential and interest in this form. The transcriptions reveal the musical thinking of a composer who was encouraged and inspired by the works of other composers, with the understanding that the musical content of the main works is not immutable, but can be continually reworked and improved. Transcriptions are more than a mark of respect or commemoration of another person's genius - they are expressive and moving testimonies to the beauty of music in a different way. In his diary, Franz Schubert wrote: "J.S. Bach has brought it all to an end. [...] He was meticulous." Pianist I. Pelliccioli's choice to present transcriptions of Bach's works exclusively to the public is a way of showing how influential his works have been on the world of music and how his masterpieces can be performed on any instrument.
