Born in Sierra Leone, brought up in the UK, and having developed his musical talent in Belgium, and arriving in Lithuania this year. Bai Kamara Jr.
He will flood the stage with his energy and temperament!
The artist's work stylishly intertwines elements of blues, soul, funk R&B, jazz. However, the singer singles out blues as the music of the soul. It is perfect for Bai's warm, sensual vocals and reminds the singer of his African roots.
This is symbolically reflected in the new album Traveling Medicine Man, inspired by his grandfather's missionary work. According to the singer, this album is a continuation of his journey to find his roots and his constant quest to reconcile his two homes, Africa and Europe. Find out how he does it with Afro-Blues songs in Bai's unique style.
The programme will feature the launch of Traveling Medicine Man
About the album. Jr. presents his new work, Traveling Medicine Man. It features Afro-Blues songs in Bai's unique style. In a compelling and sometimes provocative way, the singer, like a storyteller, carefully explores themes of love, life, relationships and politics.
Travelling Medicine Man is a continuation of my introspective journey to my roots and my constant quest to make my two homes - Africa and Europe - coexist. The name was inspired by my maternal grandfather, Tinka Tanner Kargbo, born in 1901 in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone. He was taught by Protestant missionaries, who later involved him in their activities. In this way, my grandfather travelled around the country with the missionaries and provided medical care to the villages and towns. I had the good fortune to spend some time with him when I was a child. One of the things that fascinated me the most was my grandfather's ability to combine his Christian beliefs with African traditions, faith and customs," says Bai Kamara Jr.
