A man without drama has no interest in life. Yes, it is. When we are doing well, when we are healthy, well-fed, warmly dressed, it gets boring, as if something is missing. And without feeling it, we start to create all kinds of situations that would satisfy our subconscious programmes, that would create some emotional storms. In this way we create dramas in everyday life, in the household, we look for them in the outside, in the environment... Meanwhile, the author proposes that we concentrate our creative potential on the creation of artistic dramas. To experience the need for the emotions evoked by dramas in breathtaking theatre performances, exhibitions, concerts.
Ansis Burke is an artist: architect, painter, lecturer. Born in Šilutė, graduated from E. Balsis School of Arts in Klaipėda. He studied at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, graduated with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in building architecture. Since the third year he has been teaching painting. Currently, he paints intensively, organises exhibitions, and gives group and private painting lessons at the academy and in his studio.
The artist is inspired by what is beautiful and true. Triumph, victory, respect, spiritual development, art that protects, enriches and encourages growth - these are the main creative impulses and affirmations. For the artist, painting is like a conversation with oneself, rising above one's own capabilities and merging with a higher power.
The exhibition is imbued with mythological motifs, silhouettes of goddesses and heroes of Greek myth, images of opera soloists, theatre, elegance, harmony, movement, colour fusions, etc. The most dramatic work in the exhibition is "Crossing Time" with Laocoontes in the foreground.
