Bel Canto Choir presents - Dagilėlis, the best boys and young men's choir in Lithuania! On 30 November 2024, they will give a sensitive Christmas concert at St Catherine's Church in Vilnius. The programme will include contemporary choral music, popular music arrangements and Christmas pieces.
Continuing its unique Open To The World project, Bel Canto Choir presents an exceptional content and concert experience. On 30 November 2024 at 7pm, Dagilėlis Choir, the best boys' and young men's choir in Lithuania, will perform a special Christmas concert, which will be a special introduction to the excitement and surprises of Christmas.
Exclusive Content and Concert Experience in Christmas in Vilnius
The Dagilėlis Choir will present a concert of the most beautiful pieces, from Renaissance miniatures to contemporary choral music. The audience will hear Mateo Flecha's "Riu, Riu, Chiu", James Pierpont's "Jingle Bells" and other works by the world's most famous contemporary composers Karl Jenkins, Morten Lauridsen, John Rutter, as well as arrangements of popular music.
Dagilėlis' Christmas programme will be enriched by the Choir's long-lasting friends on stage: the soloist Viktorija Miškūnaitė, oboe player Robertas Beinaris, and others. They will be accompanied by the young soloists of Dagilėlis.
A rare and one-of-a-kind evening with the best in Lithuania
Dagilėlis is the best choir of boys and young people in Lithuania. It uniquely combines different styles of music and is distinguished by its emotional performances. The ensemble is highly appreciated and often performs abroad, winning many international competitions. Acting as a singing school, Dagilėlis makes a significant contribution to education in Lithuania and to the education of boys and young people.
The choir prepared a lively festive programme for the Vilnius public. A special highlight of the programme was the choir's performance of the famous "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", which has become a model. The singers expertly imitate the sounds of natural phenomena and jungle inhabitants, and embellish it with tasteful choreography. On YouTube alone, this performance by Dagilėlis has been viewed almost 7 million times.

Open To The World 2024
Bel Canto Choir's Open To The World Festival is a unique vocal-choir music project that has become a tradition in Lithuania. Its aim is to present modern content, the world's best choirs, vocal ensembles and composers, to promote cultural and choral music innovation and cooperation between Lithuanian and international musicians, to foster Western culture, to create, make music and grow together.
Launched in 2018, Open To The World will present five concerts this year, featuring more than 200 singers and musicians: Composer and conductor Christopher Tin (USA), winner of two Grammy Awards, the vocal ensemble Duodeco (Lithuania), the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, the choir A Scalpella (Sweden), and soloists Jamal Moore (USA) and Tomas Pavilionis (Lithuania), The Real Group (Sweden), one of the world's most famous vocal ensembles, the barbershop vocal ensemble Lemon Squeezy (Sweden), vocalist and guitarist Marius Beck (Norway), the best boys' and young people's choir in Lithuania "Dagilėlis", and others.
